3 Simple Thing to be Thankful for Everyday

November 22, 2018

Though we should be thankful for our lives every day, Thanksgiving is a great time to reflect on all that you are blessed with. There are so many simple things that many of us take for granted. I challenge you to reflect on the content below to your own lives. It might just make your Thanksgiving, and all the days to come,  just a little bit brighter.

Exercise is a gift.

Instead of thinking of exercise as a chore, consider this; If you’re able to move freely, if you’re able to walk, if you’re able to engage in any sort of physical activity, you are blessed. There are people who wish they could do something as simple as stand up or go for a walk. Next time you’re making excuses as to why you don’t want to go to the gym, be thankful that you’re physically able to exercise. Realize that if you don’t take advantage of it, you could end up with health problems that may disable you from physical activity in the future. Exercise is not a punishment, it is not a chore. Our bodies and minds benefit from and need physical activity. We are lucky.

You have food to eat.

It’s crazy to think that many of us so freely get to be picky about what we eat when there are so many people in your own cities who struggle to put any food on the table. Be thankful if you don’t have to worry where your next meal is coming from. Don’t stress out if you indulge in something that isn’t ‘good for you’. So what you eat well over your maintenance calories at Thanksgiving dinner? At least you have food to eat.

Human connection.

You can have all the material things in the world that you want, but would still be unhappy if you didn’t have people in your life. Human connection is the key to happiness. Without others to relate to, to confide in, to form emotional connections with, imagine how lonely your life would be. Be thankful for the family and friends who support you and that love you unconditionally because they are your number one fans for life.

Your health is absolutely everything. Spend your life prioritizing your health and you will live a happy one. You are the only one in charge of how you choose to live your life. You are the only one in charge of your health. Of course, some things we are not able to control, but make healthy living your priority. We are so fortunate in this day and age, so take charge!

Happy Thanksgiving, friends. I’m wishing you all a safe and healthy holiday!
