Birthday Cake Protein Oats

I am obsessed with anything and everything birthday cake flavored. Ice cream, protein bars, coffee drinks - you name it - I LOVE IT. So naturally, when I tried Quest’s birthday cake protein bar for the first time, my life was forever changed (a bit dramatic I know).

If you know me, then you know that my greatest love in life is oatmeal. So what if I made birthday cake oats? And that, my friends, is exactly what I did and let me tell you, they are BOMB. I prefer my birthday cake oats hot, but this recipe is just as good as overnight oats. Simply store your oats in the fridge overnight and enjoy them in the morning.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 serving of oats

  • ½ cup water or unsweetened almond milk

  • 10g (⅓ scoop) vanilla protein powder

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp milled flax seed

  • Pinch of salt

  • Optional: sprinkles, 2 tbsps whipped cream

How to Prepare:

  1. In a small pot over high heat, add the oats, water or almond milk, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.

  2. Stir in the protein, vanilla extract, flax seed and half of the Quest bar.

  3. Stir until Quest bar is completely melted.

  4. Pour oats into a bowl. Chop the other half of the Quest bar and top the oatmeal. Add sprinkles and whipped cream if desired.
