27 LESSONS FOR MY 27TH YEAR OF LIFE

Another year around the sun and wow, this has absolutely been the most mentally, emotionally, and physically challenging year of my life. There have been many huge life changes, and doing the right thing even though it's the hard thing. Reflecting on my 26th year of life makes me very emotional, in a good and bittersweet way. It has been the year of self growth and figuring out who I am and what I stand for. I've never felt more confident with who and where I am going than I do right now. I still have a lot to figure out (don't get me wrong - I do NOT have my shit together), but I can confidently say I am headed in the right direction, I can feel it.

  1. Start weekly therapy.

  2. Sometimes the right thing is the hard thing (and it's worth it).

  3. If it makes you happy, no one else needs to understand.

  4. Approval from family is nice, but not necessary.

  5. A solid group of friends is vital to happiness.

  6. It's never too late to get out of situations that aren't serving you.

  7. You know what is best for you and your future.

  8. Ending relationships is hard, but also a part of life.

  9. You choose how to respond and react to situations.

  10. Daily mindfulness practice is a good idea.

  11. It's not too late to rewire how you see the world.

  12. The gym is more than a place for your physical health.

  13. Socializing is important, even if you have social anxiety.

  14. If you don't change, neither will your life or circumstances.

  15. You can train less and get in the best shape of your life.

  16. Being less frugal and actually doing things will increase your happiness, no matter how small.

  17. Quality time daily with your partner is an absolute must.

  18. You can find a partner who is unconditionally supportive of you.

  19. You DESERVE a partner who is unconditionally supportive of you.

  20. Find friends who aren't afraid to call you out on your BS.

  21. Going out to eat shouldn't be stressful.

  22. You're capable of anything if you truly want it and prioritize it.

  23. Your relationship with exercise can evolve and thrive.

  24. The older you get, the more confident you become with who you are and what you stand for.

  25. The best time to start is today.

  26. Getting a kitten is always a good idea.

  27. Anticipate bad days and enjoy the good one.

Cheers to 27! I'm excited to continue this never-ending journey to find my purpose and my happiness.
